Vets on Crown, Your Vet near Paddington
Vet clinic 1.5km from Five Ways via Oxford Street. Built for active dogs and considered pet owners.

A Full Service clinic you can count on.
If you're running your dog in Centennial Park four times a week, or you've adopted a rescue with an incomplete history, or you've just been told your cat needs a $2,400 procedure and something about the recommendation didn't sit right — those are the reasons Paddington clients end up at Vets on Crown. The clinic is 1.5km west of Five Ways, reachable via Oxford Street and Crown Street. Dr Nima founded it in 2017. Most appointments run 20 to 30 minutes, and second opinions are a normal part of the week here, not an awkward one.

I had my cat de-sexed. Cat came back super relaxed. Service was excellent.

I recently had a great experience with Vets on Crown. The staff was friendly, professional and they made us feel welcome and comfortable. I am very pleased with their service and highly recommend them!
lovely & casting. helped a friend who's cat was very unwell. The decision was to put Olly boy out of his suffering. Extremely kind towards my friend who couldn't afford the bill. Helped her. big time
The nicest staff at any vets I have been to.
Lisa, Nima and all the staff at Vets On Crown are simply superb, have never met more caring vets and the facilities are exceptional!
High standard of vet care and daycare, plus the staff genuinely love the animals. My dog loves coming here.
Thank you all so much for looking after my Ruby, my cat. Dr Nema thank you for your thorough investigation. Much gratitude to Dr Chole for emotional support and gentle care in seeing My Ruby through her journey. Thank you all for the lovely card with Ruby's paw prints and little bottle of fur. I took that to work and showed it to everyone. That's so special to me. 🙏❤️
My French bulldog has been coming to Vets on Crown since I picked him up from his breeder. He is always happy to go to the vets as he knows from experience they are kind and caring. Vets on Crown offer a complete wrap around service from vet support and follow up to doggie daycare and boarding.
Took my puppy after he had been having gastro issues on and off. Previous vet treated him with antibiotics but did not run a secondary test afterwards to see if it had cleared as they thought it wouldn’t be necessary. Well, he got sick again and that’s when I took him to Vets on Crown who did fecal test which came back with not only the same bug he had before but another 2! After 17 days on antibiotics followed by repeat tests it is now cleared
Me and my partner found this adorable cat outside our apartment this morning! We took him to Vets on Crown and they took care of him. I was very very suprised at how caring the staff were towards the cat. I was grateful to the staff for their help. Great job guys! Keep it up!
Getting Here from Redfern
- Walking: ~25–30 minutes from Five Ways via Oxford Street. Pleasant walk with a well-behaved dog, less so with a pet in a carrier.
- Bus: the 333 and 440 routes run along Oxford Street — get off at Taylor Square, then a 12-minute walk south down Crown Street.
- Driving: ~5–7 minutes depending on Oxford Street traffic. Metered street parking near 537 Crown St.
- Light rail: not a direct option from most of Paddington — bus or car is faster.
Tailored for Paddington pets
For Paddington households with two or more pets, combined-appointment slots are bookable. Two dogs in one visit, or the dog and the cat together if the cat tolerates it. Reception can allocate the right slot if you mention it at booking.
Frequently asked questions
About 1.5km west of Five Ways via Oxford Street and Crown Street — 5 to 7 minutes driving, 12 minutes from Taylor Square on the 333 or 440 bus, or a 25–30 minute walk.
Yes. Bring the referral letter and any imaging files — X-rays, ultrasound, blood results. The consult will walk through what the previous vet found, whether the recommendation stands up, and what the alternatives are if it doesn't. Flag at booking that it's a second opinion so reception allocates extra time.
Yes. Cruciate ligament issues, iliopsoas strains, pad injuries and early arthritis are a regular part of the caseload here. X-ray and ultrasound are available onsite. For cases that need orthopaedic surgery, we refer to a specialist surgeon.
No. Prescription diets are recommended when a condition calls for them, not by default. Same for joint supplements and behavioural products. You'll get a written estimate before any procedure and a call if costs change mid-treatment.
Yes. Flag it at booking so reception can allocate a longer slot. First visits for anxious or traumatised dogs are often meet-and-greets with no handling — treats on the floor, no examination if the dog isn't ready. The goal is the second visit being easier than the first.
Vets on Crown is not a 24/7 hospital. From Paddington, the closest overnight options are SASH Alexandria (~8 minutes by car) and the Animal Referral Hospital in Homebush (~20 minutes by car). Save both numbers before you need them.
