Our reviews
My pup had been ill for over a year and the previous vets at St Peters could not work out what it was. However moving to Vets on Crown, the immediate attention the staff and the vet gave to my little one was amazing and in a few weeks were able to find a diagnosis which could have left him in a critical condition as he already had AP. He was diagnosed with ME, a rare condition and Dr Nima has been super attentive and great with giving us the right medication and advice. Really glad we came here and would highly recommend them :)
We bring our two dogs to the groomer at Vets on Crown. She is amazing!
Exceptional care and a convenient location right on the corner of Main Street, making it easy to find and access. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and the veterinarians provided outstanding care for my beloved service dog. As a veteran service dog, his well-being is of the utmost importance to me, and I’m very selective about who I trust with him. The owner, Omid, went above and beyond during a difficult moment. Seeing that I was distressed as an Aussie Army veteran, he stayed by my side throughout the process, ensuring I received a clear diagnosis and expert advice on surgery and specialist options. His kindness, empathy, and personal attention made a world of difference. I truly couldn’t recommend this clinic highly enough. Their professionalism, care, and understanding put me at ease during an anxious time — probably more anxious than my dog! I am deeply grateful for the support and exceptional service they provided and also the well considered path forward they have suggested that will deliver the best possible outcome for my beloved fur baby.
Vets on Crown is my one-stop-shop for vet care, grooming, doggy day care, and puppy pre-school. The staff are skilled, attentive, and caring and take excellent care of my dog, Nina.
My French bulldog has been coming to Vets on Crown since I picked him up from his breeder. He is always happy to go to the vets as he knows from experience they are kind and caring. Vets on Crown offer a complete wrap around service from vet support and follow up to doggie daycare and boarding.
Great Vet, even when they are busy they will take the time to show that they care for the animals that come through the door. Although Penny is often nervous for the vet, she has been getting more confident every time thanks to the care of the professionals here.
Great service and amazing staff. Our cats love them so much.
Great care and fantastic service from all staff at vets on crown
I love 💕 Vets on Crown . Great atmosphere and super caring and professional team . Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ …
I’ve got an anxious cat that was urinating inappropriately and Dr Nima and staff were very understanding and helpful in discussing possible causes and solutions.
If you own a pet and live in the city, this is the best vet to go to. They have helped me and my dog for years now. They also have an in-house groomer. Hands down the best vet this side of the bridge.
My dog came in with a fractured tooth and the lovely team here were able to extract it on the same day. Emily was the veterinarian who did my dog’s procedure and during our conversation I had complete trust because of her honesty and genuine care about my dog’s wellbeing. Unlike other vets I’ve been to, she did not try to push unnecessary charges/medication and explained all the costs involved. The lady at reception is lovely and it’s such a bonus when you walk in on your dog being showered with affection from the nurse. The clinic here is very spacious and facilities seemed modern in comparison to others. The price was also very reasonable. This isn’t my usual vet, however I will be switching. Thanks for the wonderful service!
Getting Here from Redfern
- Walking: ~25–30 minutes from Five Ways via Oxford Street. Pleasant walk with a well-behaved dog, less so with a pet in a carrier.

- Driving: ~5–7 minutes depending on Oxford Street traffic. Metered street parking near 537 Crown St.
- Light rail: not a direct option from most of Paddington — bus or car is faster.
Tailored for Paddington pets

Frequently asked questions
About 1.5km west of Five Ways via Oxford Street and Crown Street — 5 to 7 minutes driving, 12 minutes from Taylor Square on the 333 or 440 bus, or a 25–30 minute walk.
Yes. Bring the referral letter and any imaging files — X-rays, ultrasound, blood results. The consult will walk through what the previous vet found, whether the recommendation stands up, and what the alternatives are if it doesn't. Flag at booking that it's a second opinion so reception allocates extra time.
Yes. Cruciate ligament issues, iliopsoas strains, pad injuries and early arthritis are a regular part of the caseload here. X-ray and ultrasound are available onsite. For cases that need orthopaedic surgery, we refer to a specialist surgeon.
No. Prescription diets are recommended when a condition calls for them, not by default. Same for joint supplements and behavioural products. You'll get a written estimate before any procedure and a call if costs change mid-treatment.
Yes. Flag it at booking so reception can allocate a longer slot. First visits for anxious or traumatised dogs are often meet-and-greets with no handling — treats on the floor, no examination if the dog isn't ready. The goal is the second visit being easier than the first.
Vets on Crown is not a 24/7 hospital. From Paddington, the closest overnight options are SASH Alexandria (~8 minutes by car) and the Animal Referral Hospital in Homebush (~20 minutes by car). Save both numbers before you need them.
