Always here for you

Vets on Crown is just over the border from Paddington, on Crown Street in Surry Hills. If you're walking from Oxford Street or the Five Ways, you can be at our door in around 10 minutes. Paddington is home to some of Sydney's most dedicated dog owners — we see them daily on the paths around Centennial Park and Trumper Park — and our clinic is built to support that lifestyle. From puppy vaccinations and desexing through to orthopaedic surgery, mobility assessments, and senior pet care, we cover every life stage. We also offer dog grooming, daycare, puppy school, and boarding on-site, so your pet's routine stays simple.

Why Vets On Crown?

  • The Closest Full-Service Vet to Paddo's Eastern Edge

Our clinic sits on Crown Street just south of Oxford Street — the same road that forms Paddington's western boundary. You don't need to drive across town or navigate hospital parking. Walk down, get it done, and be back at Centennial Park before the coffee gets cold.

  • Puppy to Senior — Every Life Stage Covered

Paddington has a high proportion of families and long-term residents, and many of our Paddo clients have been with us from their pet's first vaccination through to aged care. We offer puppy school for new owners, preventative health plans, orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, laser therapy for joint pain and recovery, and in-home house calls for older pets who find clinic visits difficult.

  • Daycare and Grooming That Fit Around Your Week

Active dogs need more than a backyard, and Paddington terraces don't always have one. Our doggy daycare gives your pet a full day of supervised socialisation and exercise, and our on-site groomers keep coats, nails, and skin in good shape — all at the same location as your vet, so nothing falls through the cracks.

Dr Nima and his team are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They should be commended on their approach to care and attention to detail on all animals in their care. Dr Nima always has time to answer any questions or concerns no matter how busy he may be and deserves recognition for his hard work. I would recommend Vet on Crown to anyone looking for a highly professional vet to take care of their best friends. Thanks again Dr Nima and team!

Had an amazing experience here when our family dog had to go in for surgery - had taken her in for boarding a few times and always really happy with the service but the level of care during the surgery was exceptional. Dr Nima really put our minds at ease and took care to explain everything clearly. Cindy is recovering well, thank you!

I brought Otis to Vet on Crown today as a first-time visit due to my local vet being booked out. Otis is a mini dachshund 3 years old. Otis had stopped eating and had been vomiting at 4am this morning. Dr Nima was extremely thorough with his examination and put my mind at ease considering that I had just lost Arlo, a companion dog to Otis, 4 days earlier in a hit and run car accident. In the circumstances I was paranoid about the health of the remaining dog Otis. Dr Nima gave some comforting viewpoints on Arlo's death which I have been significantly affected by and assisted by running blood tests and an IV drip for hydration and tablets to increase Otis' appetite. It was much more practical advice than I received from the previous vet who indicated that Otis was not eating from the stress from losing his companion dog Arlo (which added to an already traumatic event) and didn't run any tests. Dr Nima also diagnosed a heart mumur and back leg issue for Otis which I was not previously aware of which were important to me to know considering Otis' long-term health. The price was about what half I pay at my local vet. Otis is doing much better and eating now we are home.

Our shih-tzu, Milo stayed here and they took great care of him. Sent us photos, took him on plenty of walks and he was happy, healthy and CLEAN when we picked him up as they gave him a bath for free as well!

Rebecca and my previous vet at this clinic have been spot on with their advice, care and treatment. I feel very lucky to have found these wonderful, experienced vets after moving to Sydney from the Illawarra. There amazing hours of operation, genuine compassion, advice and practical yet affordable prices make them a top veterinarian service provider.

Frequently asked questions

How do I walk to Vets on Crown from Paddington?
Head west along Oxford Street and turn left onto Crown Street — we're at number 537. From the Five Ways it's about a 10 to 12 minute walk. From the Oxford Street end of Paddo, it's closer to 5 minutes.
My dog plays at Centennial Park daily — what preventative care do you recommend?
Dogs with regular park exposure should stay up to date on vaccinations (especially kennel cough), parasite prevention for ticks and fleas, and periodic health checks for joint wear — particularly larger breeds or active dogs. We can put together a schedule based on your dog's age and activity level.
Do you offer puppy school for new Paddington pet owners?
Yes. Our puppy school covers socialisation, basic obedience, and early health guidance. It's run at the clinic and is a great way to set good habits while your puppy is still young.
Can you help with mobility issues in older dogs?
Absolutely. We offer mobility assessments, laser therapy for joint pain and inflammation, orthopaedic surgery when needed, and house calls for senior pets who struggle with travel. Many of our long-term Paddington clients use a combination of these as their dogs age. Ready for Chippendale when you are — I'll angle that one toward the student and young renter crowd around Central Park and UTS.
